A limited amount of each of our most renowned boards have been decorated with a Birdseye Maple veneer just under the graphic. Each veneer has been carefully observed by all of us here at Zenit to assure that only the most outstanding pieces show up at the bottom of your deck.
Birdseye is the name given to a growth anomaly occurring in hard maple. These little eye-looking knots are most likely formed from the tree’s attempt to create new buds in its grain in order to absorb more sunlight. Due to many debatable factors, the tree must halt the procedure and resume its normal growth. While Birdseye Maple is not its own species, its distribution is almost EXCLUSIVE to Northeastern North American
A rarity found in automobile trim, jewellery boxes, guitars, and custom rifle stocks to name a few of its uses, it’s not an easy feat to find Birdseye Maple. No one knows exactly why Birdseye Maple comes about, but all the real ones know that it’s synonymous with Luxury. Land your feet on one of the 10 Judo made before this limited collection flies off the shelves!
The board description you will see BELOW is that of the Judo 2.0. This is a reminder that you are on the Birdseye Maple page, so be confident that if you add one of the options ABOVE to your cart, you are selecting the Birdseye Maple edition.
The Judo is our most technical dancing board oriented toward the freestyle rider. Like most street
skateboards, it features big round kicks to elevate the level of control when doing aerial tricks, not to
mention manual combos and ghostride variations. A narrower platform means flip tricks come easier
than the Judo’s bigger siblings, but also that it can be a great choice for a smaller rider looking for a
lighter board that still has all the same board walking capacity.
Weight: 5.2 lbs
The recommended rider weight for this board is below 240 lbs.
Laminated together with bio sourced Greenpoxy, this board features a wooden core made of four plies of Hard Rock Canadian Maple and a central Poplar ply for reduced weight and increased pop. We sandwich the core between two sheets of pre-tensioned triaxial fibreglass which are embellished with the board’s alluring colours.
The pre tensioned and pre cured fibreglass supplies some playful flex patterns that keep the board consistent throughout. Gentle kicktails on all the 2021 dancers facilitate popping the board so you don't have to comply with gravity. Most importantly, the composite material keeps the board crisp, snappy, and durable, without sacrificing any of the wood’s natural flexibility.
Simplicity enthralls; complexity gets lost in the cacophony.
